Bath Skills

Our little one has been taking swim lessons for the past couple of months (a swimming blog post coming soon) and taking what she learns and applying them while in the bathtub. What a smart little "goldfish"!
She has been laying down flat in the tub and letting the water come past her ears--this has been her thing for a while. She's very proud of herself for doing this, you can tell.
The next lesson I noticed was her trying to blow bubbles in the water. This consisted of her sticking her mouth in the water and swallowing the bath water. Yuck! I kept telling her, "Don't drink the water!" This went on for a couple of nights. So, the following night, I showed her how to blow bubbles. Still, she kept swallowing the water. On the next night, all of sudden, I see bubbles coming from her mouth. She did it! I was so excited for her and couldn't believe how quickly she was able to catch on.
She still blows bubbles during her swim class. So, it's not old yet.
The laying down flat in the tub, by the way, is old news. Now her thing is to take the little blue shark toy (only that one, not any of the other 10 or so animals she has) and to make the shark "glide" and "dive". It has been so fascinating to watch her extend her lessons at home. We are pretty proud of our little swimmer!
