Our Little Sweet Pea is two today! As I look back on the past year with her, there have been so many developmental changes, a lot of language growth, some challenges (for sure!), amazement, wonder, and awe, and most especially lots of moments of laughter with our child.
The day started off with breakfast at a local favorite of ours Frankie & Lola's. Then we took a little stroll down by the pier before Daddy headed off to work. (By the way, as she and I were driving toward the Embarcadero, she points ahead and says "Morro Rock". My jaw dropped! When we were on the pier many weeks ago, I had pointed to the Rock and mentioned it to her. She has quite the memory!). We went home to open her presents.
Afterwards, P and I took off for the beach, and boy was it a gorgeous day! We took off our shoes, which she was unsure of at first, and just plopped in the sand and enjoyed the warm sun and silky feeling of the sand (which you will see below).
Lunch was next on the agenda, followed with some warm milk and a much needed nap. If that doesn't sound like the perfect day, I don't know what does!
After naptime, I whisked her off to pick up Daddy and meet her friends Bode and Lilyana at a pizza place, Klondike Pizza in Arroyo Grande. Incidentally, the owners of the joint are the ones who bought Robb's VW Single Cab!
We had lots of fun hanging out with friends and looking at our children and how much they've changed! Alas, it was time to go as our kids were getting tired.
Wait, we're sitll not finished! One more stop. We popped in to Susan and Clarence's to have some cake. Finally, we went home. Poor P was so tired that she was fast asleep before her head the pillow.
Happy Birthday P! Don't grow up too fast...
